How to be Single and Happy on Valentines Day

I have never, and I mean never have had anyone to spend Valentines Day with. When I would ask someone, like another single friend(s), if we can go out for Valentines Day (as friends) and catch up. Everyone says “Yes” but no follow through. So, every single Valentines Day, I am alone.

There are a lot of single people out there who absolutely dread Valentines Day. Valentines Day is all about love and being with the person you love. What about those of us who are single? Don’t fret. I have a lot of easy tips that will help make Valentines Day full of love.

1. Buying Yourself a Valentines Gift is actually one the best things you can do for yourself. I guarantee it will brighten up your day and make you smile. I have personally found the perfect things to buy yourself are stuffed animals and flowers.

Flowers are the best to buy because every time I look at flowers in my room I feel special and loved. Stuffed animals make me smile and it is something I can hug and hold whenever I’m feeling down.

This year I bought myself a stuffed unicorn and I also got a single Tiffany Blue colored preserved rose from Dear Fleurs Los Angeles. This rose will last me a couple of years. It also makes me feel special and loved.

Fact: No one knows what kind of flowers I love, and what kind of bouquet I love. Not even my parents know.

2. You can Either a) Go Out to Dinner even if it is by yourself, still go. You’ll be glad you did. There is something about going out for a good meal that warms the soul. If you don’t want to go out and see all the Valentines Day hype, you can also b) Stay at Home and Make it a Night. Cook yourself your favorite meal, or order some Chinese take out and make it a movie/Netflix night. You can also c) Take Time and Read a Good Book.

Both prove to not only be a wonderful escape, but you are also resting, relaxing, and taking time for you. On Valentines Day I light candles, a bottle of wine, with either a book or Netflix.

This will complete the night and you can enjoy your flowers in the candle light.

So far, I have found these two things to be extremely helpful for me. Remember, it’s always important to take care of you.
