Brave Heart Award

braveheart-award

I have never heard of this award before, but I am honored to be receiving it. Someone sent it to me with a bunch of questions to answer and have now deleted their site. So now, I’m unsure who to give credit for nominating me, but I thank this person.

  1. Tell us a little bit about your blog. Who designed it? The design of my blog is a free theme from WordPress. I loved the colors of the theme and I just inserted pictures, did my own static homepage, added some widgets and I have a beautiful site.
  2. What is the title and description of your blog? Happy Hawaiian Runner is the title of my blog, and my blog is about rebuilding my life after years of domestic violence destroyed it. I talk about how I had to start all over from the beginning. Rebuilding my life is my new life; the life I always dreamed about.
  3. Who is your intended audience? Whoever happens to come to my site. Everyone is my intended audience. No matter what background we come from I believe that we can learn a lot about life through the eyes of someone else, their point of view, their experiences teach us. We can all learn from each other and also be kinder to one another.
  4. How did you come up with the title of your blog? Happy Hawaiian Runner is a nickname (one of them) given to me by other runner’s while I was running my first marathon.
  5. Give us an interesting fun fact about your blog. Well, my blog was originally about running races through my eyes; it was originally titled “Running Through Los Angeles”. I have gone through a few changes before settling on where my blog is today.
  6. What other blogs do you own and what makes them alike? I do not own any other blogs.
  7. Do you have any unique talents or hobbies? I’m not sure about talents and I honestly don’t have time for hobbies at the moment. I have school full time, two jobs, a teenage son, along with workouts and runs. Once my life settles I hope to pick up a hobby.
  8. What can we expect from you in the future? No one can really predict the future, but I can tell you that some major events are coming to my life soon which I will be sharing with all of you.
  9. Do you have any tips for readers or advice for other writers/bloggers? On my current blog I was receiving a lot of racist comments, death threats, etc. I made sure that all comments needed to be approved by me first. Good thing I did that because if I didn’t then others would have read all that. Thankfully, I was the only one who saw those comments. Make sure all comments need your approval first. Also, if you constantly receive hateful comments, harassment, online bully, etc. change your settings to the person commenting has to be a WordPress member. Also, hand everything over to the FBI (www.ic3.gov). In my case, even though the email addresses used were fake (I could easily tell) the emails I received with the comments wanting approval had an IP address attached as to who the sender was. The comments I received are considered a hate crime. Stand up for yourself and don’t let anybody keep your star from shinning bright. Also, proof read constantly before you publish. Engage with your readers via comments, and do not argue with any internet trolls.
  10. Before you go, could you share a snippet from your blog? “Its not about what happened to me, its about how I survived.”
  11. I would like to nominate the following blogs for the Braveheart Award: I honestly don’t know what would constitute as receiving this award. I think everyone fights daily for their life, for their dream, etc. Perhaps following your own heart even when your loved one’s don’t approve of it. I am going to nominate all of you for this award. Please comment below so I can send you the questions and the pic if you’d like to receive this award.
